Damien Duigan, Shannon's Auction Sales Advisor, joins Peter to discuss the history of Shannons, a small insurance company established to insure rare and classic cars.  Shannons is synonymous in selling and insuring quality rare and classic cars with the auction house started in 1981 in Melbourne and continues to grow with auction houses in both Sydney and more recently Brisbane.  We discuss recent trends in particular the growth in Japanese vehicles and surging prices in Holden cars that no-one saw happening.  Damien explains the buying and selling process through Shannons.  Damien discusses some of the barn finds that Shannons were involved in and we reflect on the auctions relating to memorabilia and number plates.
