ジェニのピカピカ日本語へようこそ。
Today I would like to introduce you to Valentine's Day in Japan.
In Japan, unlike the rest of the world, women often give chocolates to their boyfriends or workmates.
However, there are several types of chocolates.
For serious romantic partners, they give "Honmei Choco".
The "real" chocolates are handmade or specially prepared chocolates that you give with all your heart.
The "giri-choko" is given to those who do not receive the "honmeitai-choko", such as colleagues at work.
This is a way to express your appreciation for the help they give you on a daily basis.
Tomochoko is not given to men, but to friends of the same sex.
Valentine's Day in Japan is unique.
If you've ever been to Japan, you probably know that Japanese chocolates come in many varieties and are very delicious.
And they are not too sweet.
When you first try it, you may feel that you are missing something, but once you get used to Japanese chocolates, you will not be able to eat sweet chocolates from other countries because they are too sweet.
本命チョコ chocolate for her sweetheart
義理 sense of duty
友 friend
じゃあまたね。
