Join me in The Red Treehouse as I read you a two chapters of arguably the most famous horror story ever written, Dracula written by Bram Stoker.
First published in 1897, Dracula by Bram Stoker is inarguably one of the most influential pieces of literature ever written, regardless of genre. An epistolary novel, the story unfolds through letters, diary entries, and newspaper clippings. As much a historical novel as gothic fiction, Dracula is considered a masterpiece of English literature whose characters have endured for over 125 years.
Recently, Nosferatu was released in theaters—and it re-introduced the world to Count Orlok. But did you know, Nosferatu drew inspiration from Dracula!
In this episode of The Red Treehouse, I’m going to read chapters 15-16!
So, sit back, turn down the lights, pull up the covers, and pay close attention as I read the inspiration for Nosferatu.
I’m your host, Will. Welcome to The Red Treehouse.
