135 - The Randy Wiel Show

Listen Later

If you know Randy Wiel, you’re going to enjoy this week’sepisode where his friends and family tell their favorite stories about him. If you don’t know the name Randy Wiel, stick around and hear stories about the most interesting person you’ve never heard of. As fascinating as it is, this episode isn’t about his swimming in the Pan Am games in 1967 against Mark Spitz, or competing in the Olympics in 1968. Or being a police officer in his native Curacao at the age of 17. Or playing basketball for Dean Smith at the University of North Carolina, later coaching under him. Or his days as a head coach at MTSU and UNC Ashville. Or his days scouting in the NBA including astint with the LA Lakers. Or the fact he spoke seven different languages. And played music…are you getting the picture?
