The 2018 15" MacBook Pro offers a configure-to-order option with a 6-core Intel Core i9 processor. It's a pricey upgrade from the 6-core i7 that comes standard, and early reports show that Apple's thermal design may not be able to fully leverage the performance increase. Ian Cutress of AnandTech is here to explain the difference between various nodes and how it can be difficult to quantify the result using simple benchmarks.
