A few days ago I heard someone on the radio describe the appearance of another person as 'introverted'.
It got me wondering...what on earth does that mean?
Do introverts and extroverts look different? Is there an introvert style and an extrovert style when it comes to the clothes we wear and the look we go for?
No. Of course not.
I know many introverts who dress in unique ways and have what might be considered 'extreme' appearances. This is in fact the opposite of what the guy on the radio was saying - it became apparent that he was describing the person as lacking confidence in how they dressed. I also know extroverts who do the same.
But it made me think.
How can we confidently use our appearance to link up inner and outer worlds? To express something of who we are without using words?
In this episode I explore this question and encourage you to let your weird shine.
Your weird is your you. It's who you are. It's the expression of yourself from within that you let out into the world.
Why might introverts use their appearance to communicate something of their personality?
1. Self-Expression
2. Conversation
3. Pushing Back Against the Status Quo
4. Unconscious Uniqueness
