George and Dad are chatting outside in the early evening. They are in the French Alps where the breakfast run is a 9 km ascent (800 m vertical) of the Col de Sabot followed by a run back down. It's hard, but surprisingly sustainable and George is concerned that it is not worthwhile marathon training.
It's a Friday evening and the following morning they are both doing a 1 km+ vertical race in La Grave as a parkrun replacement. Shoe choice is limited and neither has much of an idea about the course.
The podcast was brought to an abrupt end by an impressive hummingbird hawk-moth.
