When looking to find a solution for a crosslay lay for a new truck our department acquired, we realized that there's far too little information out there showing the pros, the cons, & just in general listing and comparing the various crosslays out there. On top of that, there were not many options of lays for 4-wide crosslay bays. So, what did we do? We decided to take a stab at creating our own lay.
Join us as we talk about the process of creating our own lay (Switchback), comparing some common lays (Minute Man, Triple Lay, & Flat Lay), and - as always - some tangents and commercial breaks of things we just can't get off our minds.
As always, we don't claim to be experts. We're two people who love to talk fire. All we want is to give the inspiration to anyone listening to take the steps to bettering their volunteer fire department however they can.
