Tabrez Ansari was tied to a pole and beaten mercilessly for over seven hours. All of this was recorded on camera. The crowd was accusing him of theft. Five days later, Tabrez died of his injuries.

That was 22 June 2019. 

The police filed the charge sheet on 29 July, but months later, they dropped the charge of murder against the alleged attackers.
