The Buresh Daily Discussion

This morning we are tracking a mild start to the day in the 60s. Clouds will continue to increase through the morning and into the early afternoon. A few peaks of sunshine and winds out of the south and southwest will help us get to the lower 80s this afternoon. We may tie or break the record high temperature for today’s date. A line of rain and embedded storms will arrive in Inland Southeast Georgia by 1-2 pm. Showers and storms could initially produce some gusty winds in SE Georgia. An isolated tornado can’t be ruled out, especially if any cells get out by themselves ahead of the main line of storms. That line will generally be on a weakening trend as it heads into Jacksonville just in time for the afternoon and early evening commute. A few heavy downpours and lightning strikes are possible. Rainfall totals could be as high as 0.25 – 0.50” in NE Florida and 0.50” – 0.75” in SE Georgia. We will see a few showers overnight before a cold front passes through during the morning commute tomorrow.
We see skies clear in the afternoon on Thursday as temperatures fall from the 70s to the 60s. We drop to the 40s by Friday morning. The JAGS game on Saturday is still looking cool with temperatures in the 50s for kickoff.
