Episode 14
Jon Cerf is the founder of Core Progression Elite Personal Training and has been personal training for ten years. He has a B.S. Degree from Baylor University in Exercise Science. Jon believes in a scientific approach to helping people reach their fitness goals whatever they may be. He has worked with hundreds of clients over the years in all different age ranges as well as fitness levels, from elite athletes to kids to beauty pageant contestants to people just wanting to look and feel better.
Motivation
Like many of us, Jon played sports all through high school and college. After graduating from Baylor, Jon's plans were to attend CU med school initially. But why write a prescription to help people with their health when you can do it naturally through exercise and nutrition? (Yes! I love that!) This thinking and Jon's fascination with the human body are what drove him to pursue personal training.
Challenges
Our teenage years are often some of the most challenging. For Jon, there was a lot of pressure to get as big as possible lifting weights, and that led to injuries. This is a big part of why he helps young athletes with correct form and educates them on the truths of supplementation.
Passion for helping you
"You can't put a price tag on the type of joy and excitement you get from adding years to someone's life." There's a story that Jon shares at 13:10 that you need to hear. All I can say is wow.
Nutrition
"I use the same approach that I recommend to the NPC Competitors and professional athletes that I train."
