In today’s episode our focus is on helping leaders and shaping organizational strategies with coaching.
I am joined by my guest Angie Alexander, a Professional Engineer, Leadership & Team Effectiveness Consultant, Speaker and a Certified Mental Fitness Coach.
After over 20 years in the oil and gas industry in Alberta, she realized that her technical background combined with her people-oriented approach to working with leaders and their teams was her superpower! She loves nothing more than to support, encourage, lift up and help people be their best professional selves!
She is an empathetic coach and facilitator who loves to support technical professionals, leaders and teams work better together. She has skills in leadership development, mental fitness coaching, organizational effectiveness, facilitation, process design & improvement, change management and project management. She possesses a passion for bringing teams together to work more effectively, make better decisions, be more innovative and think more strategically.
Angie shares what has contributed to her success as a coach:
She believes that coaching should not be seen as a remedy solely for underperformers or just for top executives. Angie sees her role as helping people understand that anyone can benefit from coaching. Her engineering background gives her credibility, especially when discussing complex concepts like rewiring neural pathways, which helps in establishing initial trust with clients.
We chat about dealing with the Judge Voice and the accomplice saboteurs, along with their impact on your mental fitness.
Your internal "judge" frequently undermines your confidence, telling you that you're not smart or successful enough and this voice can be quite loud.
