145. How To Recognize Stress Before It Leaves You Blind - Jan '23

Listen Later

This week I’ll be sharing a repost episode from almost the very beginning of this podcast! For anyone of you who are new here, I know this would be a great and impactful episode to listen to in getting to know me, as well as a great re-listen for my regular listeners!

Imagine for a second that you've just started a great job, you're newly engaged and a  new homeowner. You're living your best life. But then one day, you wake up and can't see out of your left eye.

That's exactly where I was 18 years ago. I had been pushing herself and my body so hard, not recognizing the signs of chronic stress and how it was affecting my body and mind. Today, I’ll share my story and provide tips on how to manage your day-to-day stress so it does not leave you blind!

Episode Highlights

[1:40] - When I talk about health, I don't mean the next new diet.

[5:00] - The damage caused by stress doesn't always have visible signs.

[9:20] - It’s the study of medicine, not the exact science. You must work with the information you have and make decisions accordingly.

[12:00] - When it comes to our health, we're in charge. We are our biggest advocates.

[14:00] - Focus your attention on how you want to feel in certain situations.

[14:50] - Listen to your body when it's trying to tell you something.

[16:00] - The importance of fueling your body to perform at the level you desire.
