145. Reducing Existing Pain with a New Running Shoe, Featuring Lenn Hann
What kind of person spends 20 years developing a new running shoe technology? I wanted to get to know the person behind the latest running shoe to hit the market and understand what he believes makes this shoe superior to others he's tried.
Lenn Hann is the founder of Hann Shoes. He became interested in running shoes after he started to run recreationally in college. Since then, he has run 21 marathons and has been involved in the local Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) as a group leader and has trained hundreds of people to run marathons. Through this experience, he dealt with many different types of injuries and discovered a variety of issues that people have when wearing running shoes. These experiences inspired an insatiable desire to bring a better running shoe to market. Lenn has spent the last 20 years researching and developing the carbon composite suspension technology for the Hann Shoes design. Lenn launched a kickstarter campaign to fund the production of the shoes and to start getting them into people's hands.
