We all have a microphone, and we get to control who speaks into in and at what volume. It's a pretty powerful idea. As social animals, we are going to be influenced by those around us. We can't avoid it, but we can decide how much power we give to those around us. Turn the volume down on those breaking you down or those who are just plain unsupportive, and turn it up on the people who provide love, support, and valuable feedback.
