Today begins our deep dive into Aaliyah's third album, Aaliyah. Baby Girl once again wanted to walk down a new road with her music, refusing to stay stagnant and rest on her laurels. What resulted was a lush, diverse, mature set of songs that set the tune for the summer of 2001. Eight weeks later, we would lose her, so I really wanted to give her work the flowers it deserves before getting into the plane crash.
