Fathers Fire

15. Getting your kids moving in the morning

Listen Later

This morning Nick Hession and I explore creative ways to get your kids up and out the door this morning,  We all know that getting out the door for school and work can be a battle. We discuss some of the things we do to make mornings a little less of a fire drill and more of a fine-tuned pit crew.

Pro Tips

  1. Jody shares a song he made up that he sings to the kids
  2. Wake your kids gradually
  3. Turn lights on, say good morning, give them hugs
  4. Let your dogs help ;)
  5. Set up multiple alarms for yourself so that you don’t keep hitting snooze
  6. Avoid the stress of unintentionally creating a fire drill
  7. Hit them with pillows
  8. Play nice music in the background
  9. Make your morning smooth by having a plan (a battle plan)
  10. Give yourself time before getting the kids up; workout, read, watch Sports Center
