Meet Julie Card, recent VP of Share Parents of Utah and volunteer extraordinaire. Julie says, like many people, she was once naive in thinking that healthy babies come naturally with wholesome aspirations. However, her first pregnancy put her through the ringer, being sick and bedridden for 6 months, so it was no surprise when she also had Hyperemesis Gravis her second pregnancy (aka not "instagrammable" according to today's standards.) At 31 weeks gestation she was out with her family when she didn't feel well and visited labor & delivery. One moment she was told baby was fine and to go home and the next moment she was told a helicopter was waiting outside ready to Life Flight her to a bigger hospital. Take a listen to learn how Julie now feels 20 years later about that life or death decision she was forced to make that dreadful day as well as her inspired insight on the vision quality of caterpillars vs. butterflies.
