15. Scaffolding: What Matters and What Doesn't?

Listen Later

Today’s episode asks you to think about incorporating scaffolds into your planning process!  First, we want to make it easy, so that it’s done!  We do this while thinking about what matters and what doesn’t when it comes to instructing English language learners!  In this episode, we will be reflecting on chapter six of Honigsfeld and Dove’s text entitled Co-Planning and materials from the What Works Clearinghouse to make generalizations to know what matters and what doesn’t.  The scaffolding should focus on how to do things, so that they will be able to complete similar tasks alone in the future...because really, the whole underlying principle of scaffolding being that it’s temporary!

Thanks for listening!
