During today's conversation on Scripture & Story, we are continuing in our Story of Redemption Series.
We are doing biblical theology in these episodes, tracing the storyline of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation.
In our last episode we left the Israelites in exile in Babylon - a low point in the story for sure. But in today's episode we see a God who has not forgotten His people. The Israelites return to their land from exile to rebuild the temple and the walls around Jerusalem.
Then after 400 years of silence from God, we hear the glorious sound of a baby's cry. The birth of Jesus is the climax of the story of redemption! He has come to save us from our sin.
Jesus grew up under the watchful eye of Mary and Joseph, the Son of God wrapped in human flesh. After being baptized in the Jordan, filled with the Holy Spirit, and tempted in the wilderness, Jesus began His earthy ministry. He had come to preach the good news of the kingdom.
