On January 29th, 1979 in what was a premeditated attack, Brenda Spencer opened fire on Grover Cleveland Elementary School, which was across the street from her house.  She shot at elementary students, wounding eight of them and adults, killing two and wounding one, without remorse and when she was later questioned as to why she had opened fire on unsuspecting people she said that she didn't like Mondays and that her shooting spree had made the day more interesting.
