Syyskuussa 2013 sivulliset onkivat järvestä kasan kummallisia esineitä: käsirautoja, köysiä, nahkanaamioita ja teräaseita. He ilmoittavat asiasta poliisille, joka tekee järvellä omia etsintöjään ja löytää samasta paikasta muiden esineiden ohella paikallisen supermarketketjun kanta-asiakaskortin. Kun poliisi näpyttelee kortin omistajan tiedot järjestelmään, on vastassa melkoinen yllätys: kyseinen nainen oli ilmoitettu kadonneeksi yli vuosi sitten ja sattumalta hänen jäänteensä oli löydetty syrjäisestä metsästä vain kolme päivää aiemmin. Tutkinta vie poliisin äärimmäisen synkkään ja väkivaltaiseen fetissien maailmaan, jossa kontrollin menettäminen voi hyvinkin johtaa kuolemaan. Mihin nainen oli sekaantunut ja mikä, tai kuka, koitui hänen kohtalokseen?
