Home isn’t some far off land, it’s always where I stand.

Searching for treasures in far off lands have always had great appeal to us.  Look at all the movies that focus on finding all that plunder in an exotic search upon a map where X marks the spot. We’ve spent years being told that to gain the treasures we want in this life…that we need to go somewhere else.

I’ve spent years living in one place, and the luster of traveling to see something different is a calming and saving thought towards our monotonous lives. And so I moved away in hopes to find what I was looking for, and while I had great adventures it didn’t make it better, it just made it different.  The greatest treasures we can ever own have never been far off, but right within ourselves or our own backyards.  The successful aren’t people who are lucky, but they are people who think differently about the same things… that people see as ordinary. 

The most beautiful things have been at home, and home has never been a place, but it’s always been where I stand.  The people I loved, even when they were far away, were really close as I held them within my heart. I will find a way to love where I am, not because I settle, but because I see the beauty in what is within me and in front of me consistently.
