"It is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it... anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job". I believe Douglas Adams said this and it seems appropriate in many areas of life.

Those people who have the confidence and self-belief to quickly declare 'look at me, this is what I can do' normally have enough knowledge to make them dangerous and not enough self-doubt for them to want to learn any more.
