154 | Finding Open Road For Your ADHD Race Car Brain

Listen Later

Welcome to Day 22 of ADHD Awareness Month 2016!
Today, my guest and I discuss an analogy of the ADHD brain performing much like a super fast and powerful race car.
Dr. Ned Hallowell made famous the analogy of the ADHD brain being like having a Ferrari engine with bicycle brakes.
Listen as Geoff takes a slightly different spin on it.
GEOFF'S AWESOME QUOTE:
"Find your open road. Times Square, as a race car, doesn't always work."
According to Geoff, the ADHD brain is as a race car in that it's a high calibre, quality brain, it's just often in the garage.
Unlike your standard Corolla that you see puttering about everywhere going 40miles per hour, the race car is designed as a rocket ship car, built to perform fast and strong, but needs an open road.
