Gary Barkalow, founder of The Noble heart and author to one of the meatiest books I’ve ever read on purpose and calling, It’s your Call, joins us on the show to share his false-starts, lessons learned, and best ideas for success.

Path of Development – After two years of initial growth for The Noble Heart, finances became tight as business began to dry up. While he had extensive experience in business and in ministry leadership, as the front-man, he was now in unchartered waters, with only himself and his wife Leigh, manning the oars.

Calling it quits (almost) – During one of his lowest moments, he saw a move called Money Ball; Brad Pitt’s character takes on the job of rebuilding the dysfunctional and broke baseball team, the Oakland Athletics. In the movie, the manager realized for his team, what Gary would go on to realize and apply to his organization. (See “AHA moments”)

Advice for people going through career transition: “An important question to ask during major career transition: what was this past experience that’s true of me, that I need to bring into this next thing, even if it looks different on the surface.” He also adds. "Just try it, if it doesn’t work, it prepares you for the next thing you are doing.”
