Early in his career, Dr. Shea discovered that two clinicians interviewing the same patient managed to gather vastly different information relevant to the patient's suicide risk. It led to the development of the Chronological Assessment of Suicide Events to reliably arrive at the patient's actual intent and risk for suicide.
