One of my favorite games to play is ‘This is good because…’  I don’t remember where I picked it up, but I’m grateful to the person who showed it to me since it’s gotten me through a lot of difficult situations and times I found it really, really hard to find the good in something.  Next time you’re in a situation where you are frustrated and feel discouraged, challenge yourself to finish the sentence , “ This is good because…” It’s difficult at first. You may want to answer sarcastically. It may take you 2-3 minutes to come up with something that’s even remotely close to ‘good’, and that’s okay. The point is that you find SOME reason this is good.  When Nick and I were dating for almost a year, we took a trip to Florida on Labor day weekend. Due to a hurricane, our flight home got cancelled, and we had to rent a car to take from Ft. Lauderdale to NJ… and what seemed like a daunting 19 hour drive became moderately enjoyable at times because of the sentence ‘ this is good because’...we got extra time together, we got to see parts of the country we’d never otherwise see . we got to share our favorite comedians and musicians with each other, we ate snacks and junk food.
