Joking and poking fun at himself on the show, this former, overweight comedian and author, had to fight off the the well-intentioned, beach-front, bystanders, as they desperately tried to haul him back to sea. They had mistaken the family outing for a manatee rescue operation. OK, so maybe it wasn't that bad (although pretty close), when today's guest caught a glimpse of an oceanside picture of himself next to his granddaughter (her in a child's bathing suit, him in a MUCH LARGER ONE). It was the motivational jumpstart he needed to quit super-sizing, get in shape, drop the winter coat, became a triathlete and begin to live Fully Alive.
Thirty years ago, our guest, funny man Ken Davis, was called by The Dallas Morning News "One of the funniest comedians to come down the pike." (Let's pray that he's not only gotten better, but also has some new material.) He's a highly competitive athlete and is a gold medalist in competitive sleeping.
Other titles - Secrets of Dynamic Communication, How to Speak to Youth... And Keep Them Awake at the Same Time, and Is It Just Me?
More about Ken - He is the founder and president of Lighten Up Ministries and is the host of Lighten Up Radio. So far, he's written 12 books, with one that’s been turned into a movie (Fully Alive). His current book project is Lighten Up - a 90-day devotional.
