In 2015, Kala turned her life upside down and shook it out. She left the nest really empty after ending a long term marriage. She sold or donated anything that wouldn't fit into her trusty Honda CRV with 95,000 miles on the odometer, and traveled solo for 18 months throughout the US, Latin America, Iceland, and the UK. She read the blogs of other people who were making a living working on the internet - so called "digital nomads".
