16. Cody Wilson Part One: Reached for the Stars, Found Emptiness
Welcome! We are so glad you are joining us as Laura and Tara continue with the series on “success” and what is considered a “good” life. Today we are excited to share part one of our conversation with Cody Wilson, co-founder of a church in the Detroit area: Living Army. In this first of two episodes Cody shares how joy was his #1 motivator, but as he was climbing the football ladder of success, his script flipped from joy to fear. Even though he earned a full-ride scholarship to play football in college and made it to the NFL, he felt empty.

The Wheel of Fear: Tara reports how unsuccessful (wink) she was at sharing a loving word from God with a stranger at the Detroit Red Wings game. It’s more nerve-wracking than she wants it to be. She knows that it’s as simple as pausing the moment, asking God what loving thought He has over the person and then speaking it out. The hard part is stopping the over-thinking-about-it and just do it! She and Laura knows a loving word for someone never returns void.
