My grandmother passed away on July 18, 2023 at the age of 100 (coincidentally on my 40th birthday), and although we were close, we only saw each other every few years since she lived in France and I in Texas.

She was a well trained classical pianist and gave me many of her old sheet music and manuscripts as she stopped playing into her old age.

I wish I could have chronicled our conversations of her youth, her family, her music studies, and her life, so that I could have gained some wisdom and perspective from her as I aged.
