God has already delivered His people from the slavery of Egypt. However, God wants to complete this deliverance so that this slavery is forever finished. God intends to do the same with us, bring us to complete deliverance from sin.

Exodus 14:4

And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them, and I will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, and the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD.” And they did so.
