16 | Learning the Lessons in your different Life Journeys with A'Litha Jones
A’litha D. Jones was born and raised in a small country town by the name of Brownwood, Texas. Growing up in a large family, she realized the importance of faith, family, and support. From a very young age, she realized she always wanted to help others and be an advocate for those without a voice or those that felt no one cared.
She has been in nursing for 22 years strong and worked her way up the ladder (C.N.A, Med Aide, LVN, RN, NP). She currently works for Parkland Health & Hospital System as a Clinical Educator where she is currently a lead member on a research project for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and an educator for the Critical Care division. She is a faculty and instructor for the American Heart Association (AHA) courses (BLS,ACLS, PALS); an instructor for the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); a faculty, course director and instructor for the Emergency Nurses Association’s (ENA) Emergency Nursing Pediatric (Trauma) Course and an instructor for ENA’s Trauma (Adult) Nursing Core Course (TNCC). She works per diem at the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) in the Clinical Education Departments Training Center teaching BLS & ACLS for the organization. She also works for Western Governor’s University as a simulation lab instructor and clinical instructor in their pre-licensure nursing program.
All these comes from her love for knowledge that stems from her love to become a leading name in her profession and also believes in versatility since she expects it will enable her to establish a comprehensive and holistic knowledge base so that she can become better at her job and provide extraordinary care to the patients she looks after.
