Pedro López, the Monster of the Andes, is believed to have murdered at least 350 young girls but most involved with the case believe his numbers could be upwards of 400 or more. After his capture in 1980, the terrified citizens of Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia thought they were safe. They thought the man who had haunted their lives and caused so much pain and suffering was finally behind bars, no longer roaming the countryside abducting, raping, and murdering their daughters. Yet, nearly 20 years later, Pedro López would be released back into society and since that day, he has never been seen or heard from again.
