How many times have we gotten in trouble for something we didn't even know was wrong?  Or how about when you do something with good intentions but apparently it's disrespectful?  You weren't taught the "right" way to do things and were just expected to know it all.  And after you get in trouble for not knowing, you're not given any clarification on how to fix what you fucked up.  Sound familiar?  Yeah.  Well, "why don't you know?".  And please, if you have that feeling in your gut that's saying "don't tell your parents," just don't because that's your psychic meter and it's correct!  This dynamic and the responses we have received over the years from our parents have built a calloused trust where we don’t feel like we can actually rely on them for anything.  We can’t go to them for anything that we need.  But if it’s something they need then yes, we can and should help them.  Or feel this undesirable "need to" help them or else.  But it's all predicted based on past experiences and reactions.
