In this episode, we continue our discussion of biblical word studies. I give a few examples, and I point you to some resources which will prove helpful as you seek to do your own word studies.

When the actual meanings of the words are understood the passage takes on new life and meaning to the preacher. It goes almost without saying that words are important.

God gave the Bible to men using words. Those words have meanings that must be understood by the biblical interpreter. As he examines the words in the passage, and how those words relate one to another, he will understand the Scripture as never before. He will also get much help in the area of preaching material. Often, the interpretation of a passage may hinge on our understanding of the words used and what they actually mean.

There are many useful resources that will help the expositor determine the meanings of the words used. In our day, with the advent of computer technology, doing word studies in the original languages of the Bible has become something that is available even to those who are not familiar with the original languages of the Bible
