So here we are with Android and today we are covering how to create the "Extra Dim" Accessibility Shortcut!
All things said… Let’s go ahead… And get into it!
There are a few benefits here:
One, you can change your display brightness with just a tap versus pulling down the notification shade and going to the quick settings.
Two, this can lead to more comfortable viewing, say if you display is still too bright on a minimum setting, but you want it extra dim.
Three, if your display is too dim to see to quickly brighten it, the accessibility shortcut is quicker and easier to find.
Now I do have the shortcut enabled, as we demonstrated, but I'm going to walk through the how to.
First, we'll start by swiping down from the top of the display twice to show our quick settings.
We'll then look for the Extra Dim quick setting; if you don't see it, it may be on the second page or you may have to add it to the page.
Once found, you can toggle the feature here.
But we are going to press and hold on it which opens a "Extra Dim" page.
We can toggle the feature on and off here as well.
Next, we can add the Extra Dim Shortcut by toggling on or off.
If you tap on the blue text, you can also chose an accessibility option for the feature on a new page.
Once selected, we can tap the back arrow in the top left hand corner.
There is also a helpful feature at the bottom of the page "Turn off after restart" which can be helpful if you don't want your display to not be too dark to view after a phone restart.
I’m also focusing on making the content more interactive by including scannable QR codes: Scan QR Code for Amazon page!
As always, you can find mentioned items and other items in the description below as well.
The goal of this content is to help you get more out of your devices and improve your day-to-day efficiency with technology. I’m hoping to do this by providing information you can’t find anywhere else, because I use products long term that I’m interested in!
As always, clarity and authenticity are important to the content. That being said, I did purchase this product myself and this means my interest was not influenced by free product or payment, leading to more authentic content.
Why You Can Trust Me: I review items I am truly interested in, and buy myself or receive through brand communication, which I aim to communicate clearly & honestly.
