Becoming you forever

162. What’s next

Listen Later

Do you want to gain more clarity and let go of confusion as you consider WHAT'S NEXT for you in your relationships, health, finances or in your business or life in general?
I have noticed lately this nudge to prepare for “what’s next” it can be easy to give in to confusion and to wonder how to meet our goals and create better habits.
So let’s go back to this idea of “what’s next”. Let's think for a minute about how we focus so much more of our energy and time on what we DO more than WHO WE ARE and WHO WE WANT TO BECOME.
Sometimes the DOING can feel really heavy, which is why I’ve created another way that is filled with more hope and is much more approachable to the brain.
What if the answer is in the BECOMING?
Seriously, what if that’s what really matters and what if we get to decide ahead of time how that might look for us individually.
Society and culture has placed very strong energy around goal setting and results. They have told us if we’re not doing all the things and checking those specific things off our to-do lists then we’re never going to get what we want.
This has been my way of believing and feeling for so long. I thought that if I have specific goals I should be able to reach them in my timeline right?….
But when I didn’t reach them I thought it was all about the things I was or wasn’t DOING.
I know I know, our actions are important, but if they’re the only motivation we have in order to feel the way we truly want to feel then in the end, once we reach that goal we won’t even feel satisfied because we’re always going to be wanting more. So then, what’s the point?
Well, the point is to feel first.
What if you had the goal to get X amount of clients or X amount of money in your bank account or X amount of more team members or have X result in a relationship or with your health and you chose to visualize how it would look and feel?
Can you imagine in that moment with those feelings what type of action you would take toward achieving your goals?
This black and white mentality has really kept a lot of us stuck and keeps leading us to a place of confusion and indecision.
Here’s an idea, since we’re all just making things up as we go then that means We get to decide for ourselves what we want, which means “what’s next” is open for the taking.
If we can follow through on new goals or habits just a little at a time from moment to moment and let go of the mentality that it’s about what we DO then we may just see our mind open to solutions instead of confusion.
Here’s one way confusion shows up for me. When I’m planning for my day my brain wants to take me to a place of overthinking which causes overwhelm. I spin and get confused about what is most important and then I’m constantly thinking about what I NEED to do or what I SHOULD do.
In this moment It’s about all the things I “think” are important to do. I notice that most of the time (99%) these thoughts don’t serve me. In the end I end up not doing any of the things because my brain is so full of all the what ifs and it makes it harder to make decisions.
As this cycles into overthinking it leads to burnout (mentally and emotionally) and then I notice I keep getting the same old results. I’ve seen this in many other areas and scenarios for my clients as well.
After a lot of coaching and shifting and hypnotherapy sessions I’m learning that it’s not all black and white. When I feel empowered about Being able to decide how I want to feel and take action from that place then my brain clears up the clutter and I gain clarity.
So now That we have given ourselves permission to think differently about this idea of “what’s next” what will change and who do you want to become in the meantime?
When it comes to goal setting and “what’s next” let’s take it one step at a time.
As an expert in helping women get unstuck and see through the Lense of possibility and hope I share a step by step method that has helped so many gain clarity in their lives.
