We can learn from the Israelites after they were free from Egypt about why worship without generosity falls short. And why God is all in for you even if you aren't all in for Him. Who or what are you worshipping in place of God, or alongside God? That is, who do you cling to for your ultimate security? Does your worship understand the weight of grace?
