Casey Barrett swam for Canada at the 1996 Atlanta Games in the 200 Fly, placing 11th. He was a 9x All American swimming for Southern California and Southern Methodist. In high school, Casey attended the Bolles School where he once survived 80x200's long course...
Casey hung up his cap and goggles in 1998 but didn't go far. He is the winner of 3 Emmy awards and 1 Peabody award, serving as one of Bob Costas' Prime Time writers for NBC during the 2004, 2006, and 2008 Olympics.
He is the author of the Duck Darley crime series and the co-founder of Imagine Swimming, a learn to swim school in New York City.
You may also remember his swimming blog, Cap & Goggles. In 2015, he published this article about Katinka Hosszu. The Iron Lady promptly sued him and Swimming World Magazine for defamation, which she lost.
