Being a bad artist means you're still an artist, which grants you the ability to one day become a good artist. But if you're too afraid of being seen as a poor artist, you'll never actually take to the steps of being an artist, which means you'll never actually have the opportunity to be a "good one" either. So be ok with inevitable failure/rejection. It's all building blocks, and it "builds" character.
