Ericka walked into a yoga studio and didn’t see anyone else like her. She looked for yoga teachers and again, didn’t see anyone like her. It was a pivotal moment in conversation with a dear mentor who inspired her to consider being the first black woman to lead classes in NY that made her question: where else do people not show up in life when there is no one like them?
