DSAssist is the brainchild of Chelsea Spresser - a former studio owner and dance teacher with more than 20 years industry experience as well as considerable media, project
management and administration skills.
The daughter of a dance studio owner, Chelsea spent her formative years absorbing everything to do with running a studio - from dealing with clients and staff to marketing.
After studying at a specialist performing arts high school, Chelsea went to university where she earned a BA majoring in Journalism and Public Relations. She landed a coveted
cadetship with Australia's largest media organisation straight from uni and a successful 15-year career in newspapers, magazines and online media followed.
After 15 years in the media, Chelsea decided to head back to the studio where she became a qualified teacher with two worldwide organisations. Teaching quickly became a passion and Chelsea expertly juggled two careers - freelance journalism for Australia's
biggest magazine and newspaper titles and teaching and managing her mother's dancestudio - for many years.
After moving interstate, Chelsea opened her own studio and quickly grew the student base by more than 40% creating a community-focused environment where her students thrived. The Covid pandemic brought on a change in direction and Chelsea is now using
her considerable experience to help other dance studio owners through DSAssist.
