Passion Week Reflection Questions, Sunday - Wednesday
Palm Sunday – Scriptures: Matthew 21:1-11; John 12:12-36; Mark 11:1-10; Luke 19:29-44
On Palm Sunday some good questions to ask ourselves might be:
· How would you need to feel about someone to honor them in the way the crowd honors Jesus?
· What do you think it says about Jesus that he came into the city riding a young donkey?
· How have you seen God entering into your life in the past few weeks?
Holy Monday – Scriptures: Luke 19:45-20:8; Matthew 21:12-17; Mark 11:12-18
Some things on which to reflect on Monday of Holy Week might be:
· When injustice makes you angry, how do you tend to respond? Is your method leading towards justice?
· In the temple courts, sinful activity was getting in the way of worship. What activities can stand between you and God?
· What are some activities you could incorporate into your life to better focus on God?
Holy Tuesday – Scriptures: Mark 11:27-Mark 13:37; Matthew 21:23-25:46; Luke 20:1-21:36
On Holy Tuesday, we might ask ourselves:
· What does loving God with ‘all your heart, soul, mind, and strength’ mean to you?
· How are you ‘loving your neighbor as yourself’ in your life right now?
Holy Wednesday - Matthew 26:1-5; Luke 21:37-22:2 and Mark 14:1-11.
We can reflect on these questions on Wednesday:
· Why did the disciples react negatively to the woman’s using perfume to anoint Jesus’ feet?
· When do we find ourselves reacting this way towards someone’s generosity?
· How can you express your love for Jesus like the woman in this passage?
