In this gripping episode of Indelibly Marked, Veandre Grayson—also known as Dre Young @DreYoungn_816 opens up about his life inside and outside of the Kansas City street world. Though he came from a good home, he started sneaking into trouble early on, and one choice led to another.
He recalls the first time a gun was pointed at him… and how that moment changed his relationship with fear forever. Over the years, he’s been shot 17 times, spent time in prison, and even committed armed robbery to survive. But he also speaks candidly about trying to live clean, getting hit by a car that was in a shootout , catching a stray bullet from that shooting and his car was crashed into and crushed , after leaving the streets, and crying out to God after waking up in a hospital: “God… what do you want? I’m trying.”
This is a story of survival, brokenness, and the search for purpose.
