Tom and Laurel thought that they were done growing their family. They had two children and a dog. What more could they want or need? Except for one surprising day, they clearly felt led to adopt a little girl from the rural areas of Ghana's Ashanti Region. The journey to adoption and raising their new daughter in suburban America turned out to be more complex and challenging than they thought. Still, the adventure proved more rewarding than they had imagined.

• Is there any moment in your life that, looking back, you knew it was the hand of God?
