Lionel Messi and Julian Alvarez displayed just why Argentina were so heavily fancied before the tournament with a spectacular display to knock out Luka Modric's Croatia, while it was a story of unlikely heroes in France's win over Morocco. Theo Hernandez and substitute Randal Kolo-Muani bagged the goals as they beat the African side 2-0 in a closely-fought affair.
