I Am a Child of God

The bible talks about the opportunity we have to be a child of God in an extraordinary way. (1 John 3:1- 3). There are so many things we can become or be a part of in the short time we have to live. Choosing to live as a child of God is not the choice most people will make (Matt. 7:13-14). Yet, it is the choice that matters most.

A.) Why?

1.) Because the Creator gives me the chance to be His (Gen.1:26-27, 31; Gen 3; Ps. 8:1-4; John 1:12)

2.) I can't find that kind of love anywhere else. (John 3:16; 1 Pet. 3:18; 2 Car. 5:21; Rom.5:6-8)

3.) Following the way of this world will only kill me (Rom. 8:5-8; Gal. 5:16-17; John 14:6)

4.) Unlike my earthly relationships God

cannot fail me (Matt. 6:25-30; Heb.13:5; Ps.37:5-9, 12- 13, 23-28)

5.) I need help, I need mercy (Rom. 7:19, 24; Phil.2:15; 1 Pet.2:10; 1 John 3:3)

6.) There is an inheritance for me (Gal. 3:26-27; 1 Pet.1:3-5)

7.) I can be saved -forever (2 Cor.5:17; 1 John 5:12; Eph. 2:13)

B.) For the Sake of His Name

1.) I want to be a child of God to glorify Him (Rom. 8:17-19; Eph. 1:3. 12-14)

2:) Because of His great and Holy Name, I want to be a child of God (Ps.68:20; 3:8; John 12:46; Rom.10:9 ; Acts 2:38)
