In my own internal exploration, and in almost every conversation I have had, it has become clear that we often invalidate our pain and traumas for fear that they are not "bad enough" to be worthy of processing or sharing. We compare our hurt to the world and find that others must be hurting more, therefore our experience doesn't matter.
